NO BDN
CLOSINGS
for the
month of August
|
What’s happening
at BDN in August ? |
On Friday, August 1st teachers of classroom three, four,
and zero will be going on a field trip to Imagination Island.
On Thursday, August 7th, Rooms 2 and 5 will be taking
the same exciting trip to this colorful island play land. After
having a lot of fun at Imagination |
 |
Island
the children will bring back their learning experiences to the
classroom and turn them into incredible adventures through out
the month of August as they explore, discover, and create a
theme for their classroom ‘Imagination Island.” Together the
children will mentally re-explore the island |
and
bring back to life a paradise covered with tropical wonders,
they will dive into a world surrounded by water, learn about
the sparkling blue foamy ocean waves that roar like thunder and
come crashing on shore. The children will build a coral reef
and learn about the water that is teaming with exotic plants and
many species of sea life just waiting to be discovered.
The volcano is rumbling and is waiting for the junior explorers
to eliminate the pressure from within its core. All this will be
accomplished when the children come together for activities such
as shark tag, searching for buried treasure, dancing the water
limbo, and good old fashioned Luaus with grass skirts. All this
happens on the simulated Imagination Island. |
This is sure to be an amazing month. Ask your children questions
about their experiences. Watch for details in the classroom
newsletter.

Protecting children from extreme weather
EEC Regulations for family child care homes and child care
centers require that children have daily outdoor play, weather
|
|
permitting. While an opportunity for fresh air and outdoor play
is important for children and caregivers alike, there are some
precautions that must be taken to protect children from extreme
weather. I will share information with you that we received from
the Department of Early Education and Care. |
